Multi-agency Cadastral Base Project, November 2003

A proposed Land Information Services Division structure was mandated to create an efficient and cost-effective process to compile, integrate and deliver cadastral and base mapping information. This required a number of different branches of government in multiple Ministries, all with long standing cultures, to work together to create an integrated Cadastre. The project's objective was to realize efficiencies and to accelerate production of products required by the Integrated Registries Project and to meet MSRM's information delivery commitments to all its partners and stakeholders. We facilitated multi-agency working sessions to move this initiative forward by focusing on the following:

1. Building a culture of trust and cooperation within staff/clients/partners
2. Reviewing and amending the Statement of Purpose;
3. Developing a common understanding of what represents a single cadastral base for the province
4. Maximizing collective knowledge and experience of staff through a consolidated team approach that valued everyone’s contribution
5. Clarifying roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders
