Forest Practices Branch, Ministry Of Forests: Nov 2003

Senior management asked us to facilitate an off-site retreat of the Forest Practices Branch to recognize and honour their fourty staff and to commence future oriented planning after a major down sizing period. We designed a 2-step collaborative approach to ensure the Retreat was as meaningful to staff as possible.

Part 1: We held a four hour Creative Planning Dialogue, that brought together a cross section of the Branch's staff to collaboratively create the retreat's agenda.

Part 2: The two-day retreat successfully created a new Statement of Purpose that was unanimously adopted for the Branch. Based on this new direction, small groups identified the challenges and solutions in two high priority areas and created action plans to begin movement on these issues following the Retreat.

In terms of overall value, over seventy five percent of respondents gave a well or excellent response and ninety six percent when moderate responses are included.
